The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will hold a World Press Conference and National Stakeholders’ Meeting on October 6th, 2026, in Abuja as preparations intensify for the 2027 General Election.
The meeting, scheduled for the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, will mark the 100-day milestone to the first ballot and bring together political parties, the media, security agencies, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.
INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, is expected to address the gathering and provide updates on the Commission’s preparations for the elections, adding that attendance is strictly by invitation.
Meanwhile, according to INEC’s published timetable, the Presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled for February 20th, 2027, while the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are slated for March 6th 2027.
